Cape Cod Bay, MA
Bay in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. The broad, productive bay enclosed by the hook of Cape Cod, Cape Cod Bay is one of New England's premier inshore saltwater fisheries. Migratory striped bass and bluefish flood the flats, rips, and shoals from late spring through fall, with tautog (blackfish) and scup over structure and summer flounder (fluke) on sandy bottoms. Black sea bass have become abundant, and the deeper waters toward Stellwagen Bank hold Atlantic cod and haddock. Barnstable Harbor and Sandwich are the main launch points.
