Delete your account
PescaBite app · Developer: PescaBite · Last Updated: September 25, 2026
You can delete your PescaBite account and the data tied to it at any time, either inside the app or by email without the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option 1: Delete in the app
- Open PescaBite and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the Account section at the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm twice: tap Delete Account, then Yes, delete everything.
Deletion runs immediately and the app signs you out. The Account section only appears once you are signed in (with Apple, Google, or email). If you never signed in, see “Never signed in?” below.
Option 2: Request deletion without the app
Email support@pescabite.com with the subject “Delete my account”. Send it from the email address on your PescaBite account.
- Email sign-in: send from the address you signed up with.
- Sign in with Google: send from the Google (Gmail) address you signed in with.
- Sign in with Apple: if you chose “Hide My Email”, your account address is an Apple relay address ending in
@privaterelay.appleid.com. You can find it on your iPhone under Settings → [your name] → Sign in with Apple → PescaBite. Include that relay address in your email; you can send from any address.
Verification: to make sure only the account owner can delete an account, we reply to the email address on the account and ask you to confirm. Once you confirm, we delete the account and its data and email you when it is done, within 30 days of your confirmation and usually much sooner. We never ask for your password.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in identity (email address, and the link to your Apple or Google sign-in)
- Your profile: display name, profile photo, home state, favourite waters, and notification settings
- Your push notification token, so alerts stop
- Your entire catch log: species, sizes, locations and coordinates, notes, and dates
- All catch photos stored in our cloud storage
- The log of pressure-drop alerts we sent you
When you delete in the app, the app also erases the catch log, catch photos, and saved settings stored on that phone. If you delete by email, uninstall the app (or delete it in the app) to clear the copy on your phone.
What is kept, and for how long
- AI Fish ID usage records. A usage record for each identification (date, which AI provider answered, the species result, and cost) is kept for cost and abuse monitoring. On deletion the link to your account is removed, so the record is anonymous. The photo itself is not stored in these records.
- Anonymous app statistics. Product events (such as “paywall viewed”), unmatched search terms, and crash reports never contain your account ID, so they cannot be traced to you and are not deleted with your account.
- Purchase records. Apple, Google, and our subscription processor RevenueCat keep records of PescaBite Pro purchases under their own retention policies, including for tax and refund purposes. These records carry a random account ID, not your email address.
- Backups. Our database provider keeps one encrypted backup per day, each for 7 days, for disaster recovery. Deleted data can remain in those backups for up to 7 days after deletion, until they expire and are overwritten; it is not restored from them into the live service.
Subscriptions are not cancelled by deleting your account
Apple and Google bill PescaBite Pro, not us. Deleting your account does not stop billing. Cancel first in the App Store (iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions), then delete your account.
Never signed in?
If you used PescaBite without signing in, your catch log and photos stay on your phone and are not uploaded. Uninstalling the app deletes them. The app’s anonymous session holds no name or email address.
