Buzzards Bay, MA

Bay in Bristol County, Massachusetts. A roughly 28-mile-long bay between the Elizabeth Islands and the southeastern Massachusetts mainland, Buzzards Bay is a striped bass and bluefish stronghold with strong tidal current through the Cape Cod Canal at its head. Tautog (blackfish) over rocky structure, scup, and summer flounder (fluke) round out the inshore mix, and black sea bass are increasingly common. The canal, Cleveland Ledge, and the many rocky points and reefs make it one of the most consistent shore and boat fisheries on the south coast.
