Wachusett Reservoir, MA
Reservoir in Worcester County, Massachusetts. A roughly 4,100-acre drinking-water reservoir between Worcester and Clinton, Wachusett is one of only two lake trout fisheries in Massachusetts and a destination for trophy smallmouth bass, landlocked salmon, white perch, and rainbow trout. Fishing is shore-only (no boating or wading allowed) from designated gates and the West Boylston Thomas Basin. Deep, cold, clear water makes it a strong year-round coldwater fishery, with smallmouth best May through September and lake trout taken on shiners along bluffs and drop-offs.
