Lake in Kootenai County, Idaho. A 25-mile-long natural lake just south of the city of Coeur d'Alene, fed by the Coeur d'Alene and St. Joe rivers and drained by the Spokane River. One of Idaho's most diverse fisheries: Chinook salmon, kokanee, cutthroat trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, black crappie, and bluegill. Chinook and kokanee are downrigger targets; pike and bass concentrate in the weedy southern bays.
