Reservoir in Elko County, Nevada. A high-desert reservoir at roughly 6,200 feet on the Owyhee River in remote northeastern Nevada, about 70 miles north of Elko. One of the state's top trout and warmwater mixed fisheries: stocked rainbow trout, brown trout, and Lahontan cutthroat, plus naturally reproducing yellow perch and smallmouth bass. A popular ice-fishing destination in winter when the reservoir freezes hard.
