Lake Tahoe (Nevada), NV
Lake in Douglas County, Nevada. A massive, exceptionally clear alpine lake at 6,225 feet straddling the California-Nevada line, over 1,640 feet deep. The Nevada side fronts Glenbrook, Cave Rock, Zephyr Cove, and Sand Harbor. Mackinaw (lake trout) are the trophy target trolled deep, with rainbow and brown trout and kokanee salmon also present. Cold, deep water keeps the lake fishable year-round but slow; downriggers and lead-core lines are the norm.
