Missouri River, NE

River in Douglas County, Nebraska. The big-river border of eastern Nebraska, running from the Gavins Point tailwater past Omaha and Nebraska City toward the Kansas line. The channelized lower reaches and the wild Missouri National Recreational River stretch hold trophy channel and flathead catfish, blue catfish, sauger, walleye, white bass, freshwater drum, and shovelnose sturgeon. Catfish are the marquee draw, with big flatheads and blues taken from the wing dikes and deep holes. A live USGS gauge at Omaha reports water temperature and discharge.
