Lake in New Castle County, Delaware. At 189 acres the largest freshwater pond in Delaware, an early-1800s impoundment built to feed the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal and now the centerpiece of Lums Pond State Park near Bear. A productive warmwater fishery for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish and chain pickerel, with hybrid striped bass also present. Shallow, weedy and easy to fish from boat, kayak or bank.
