Lake Powell (Utah), UT

Reservoir in San Juan County, Utah. A vast desert reservoir on the Colorado River straddling the Utah-Arizona line, with the Utah side including Bullfrog, Halls Crossing, and the San Juan arm. Roughly 160 miles long at full pool, it is one of the West's top warmwater fisheries for striped bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, and crappie. Stripers school and boil in summer and fall; smallmouth blanket the rocky shorelines. Warm, clear water keeps fish active much of the year.
