Rangeley Lake, ME

Lake in Franklin County, Maine. A roughly 6,000-acre coldwater lake in Maine's western mountains, the centerpiece of the Rangeley Lakes region and a historic destination for trophy brook trout and landlocked salmon. Surrounded by Rangeley Lake State Park, the lake is fed by cold inlet streams and managed for wild and stocked coldwater fish. Spring trolling near tributary mouths and fall as fish stage to spawn are prime; the high elevation keeps water cold and salmon active well into summer.
