Sebago Lake, ME

Lake in Cumberland County, Maine. Maine's deepest lake and second-largest at roughly 28,800 acres, in the Lakes Region northwest of Portland. Sebago is the birthplace of the landlocked salmon fishery and remains one of the state's premier waters for landlocked salmon and lake trout (togue), with strong smallmouth bass and a coldwater forage base of smelt. The deep, cold basin keeps salmon and togue active through summer; spring and fall are best for shallow trolling and casting. The lake is the public water supply for greater Portland, so swimming and body contact are restricted in the Lower Bay.
