Canyon Ferry Reservoir, MT
Reservoir in Broadwater County, Montana. A roughly 35,000-acre reservoir on the Missouri River just east of Helena, the third-largest body of water in Montana and one of its most popular. Heavily stocked rainbow trout make it a put-and-take favorite, alongside strong walleye, yellow perch, and the occasional brown trout. The shallow, fertile water warms quickly and produces fast spring rainbow fishing and a summer walleye bite. Ice fishing for perch and trout is a winter mainstay. Elevation roughly 3,800 ft.

Water facts
Many FWP fishing-access sites and ramps ring the reservoir (Silos, Goosebay, Court Sheriff, Ponderosa, Chinaman's). No in-lake gauge; the USGS gauge on the Missouri River at Toston is the upstream inflow proxy and reports flow plus water temperature. A Montana fishing license is required.
